The first time I went to Thailand, this dessert was presented at dinner that evening. At the time it was served, I was a little taken back - I mean bananas and milk? Then I tasted the sublime nature of the dish. Maybe it was the scenery. Either way, amazing.
One of the great things about Thai food are the unexpected surprises that arise from very simple ingredients. This dish is great for kids and adults as well. Try it today.Ingredients:
- 5 ripe bananas
- ½ cup coconut cream
- 1 ½ cup coconut milk
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preparation:
- Peel the bananas, cut in half lengthwise, then cut across to get 4 pieces.
- Pour the coconut milk into a pot and cook over medium heat until it boils.
- Add the bananas, and cook until soft, about five minutes.
- Add the sugar and salt. After sugar has completely dissolved, pour in the coconut cream, then remove from the heat and serve.

Sounds tasty.
